It’s often said, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” This principle reflects a profound biblical truth: the people closest to us shape our character, values, and decisions. Proverbs 13:20 reminds us that walking with the wise leads to wisdom, but associating with fools brings harm.
Take a moment to reflect on your five closest relationships. Do these people encourage you in your faith, challenge you to grow, and support your walk with Christ? Or do they influence you toward compromise, negativity, or unhealthy habits? The company we keep not only affects our present but also shapes our future.
In my own life, I’ve experienced seasons where the people around me either lifted me up or pulled me down. Choosing godly, uplifting relationships isn’t about being judgmental. It’s about protecting the person God is calling you to be. Surround yourself with those who inspire you to walk closer with Him.

Prayer
Lord, thank You for the relationships that influence my life. Teach me to choose my companions wisely and to surround myself with people who encourage my walk with You. Help me to be a godly influence in the lives of others as well. I give You all honor, all the glory, and all the praise. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen & Amen.
