Overcoming Fear in Evangelism

One of the biggest obstacles to sharing the gospel is fear. Fear of rejection, fear of saying the wrong thing, or fear of offending someone. Yet, God’s Word reminds us that His Spirit gives us power, love, and self-discipline to overcome fear.

Focus on Love: Sharing the gospel is an act of love. When we care more about someone’s eternal destiny than our own discomfort, fear begins to fade.

Prepare Yourself: Knowing God’s Word and practicing how to share your testimony can help you feel more confident.

Rely on God: Remember, it’s not your job to save anyone, that’s God’s work. Your role is to share faithfully and leave the results to Him.

Fear is natural, but it doesn’t have to hold you back. With God’s help, you can share the gospel boldly and joyfully.

Reflection Questions

  1. What fears have held you back from sharing your faith?
  2. How can you trust God to overcome those fears and step out in faith?
