Hallowed Be Your Name

To “hallow” something means to make it holy, to set it apart as sacred. When we pray, “Hallowed be your name,” we’re acknowledging God’s holiness and expressing a desire to honor Him in everything we do.

God’s name represents His character and nature. Throughout Scripture, His names reveal His attributes, Jehovah Jireh, our Provider; Jehovah Shalom, our Peace; Jehovah Rapha, our Healer. Praying for His name to be hallowed is a declaration of worship and a commitment to reflect His holiness in our own lives.

I’ve experienced moments where God’s name became a refuge for me. A place of peace, provision, and healing. When I’ve struggled, simply calling on His name reminded me of His power and presence.

Praying “Hallowed be your name” also challenges us to live in a way that honors God. It’s not just about our words but about our actions, ensuring that our lives reflect His holiness to those around us.
