I never thought my life would fall apart the way it did. When my wife left, I didn’t understand why. I prayed, pleaded, and sought answers, but they didn’t come. The silence was deafening, and the hurt was overwhelming.
In the midst of the pain, I discovered something about God that I hadn’t fully grasped before: He is close to the brokenhearted. I felt abandoned, not just by her but even by God at times. Yet, as I kept crying out to Him, I began to feel His presence in ways I hadn’t before.
He didn’t swoop in and fix everything overnight. Instead, He walked with me through the valley, calling out areas in my own heart that needed healing and transformation. He reminded me that even in the middle of devastation, He was still working.
Watching my daughter grow through this season has been bittersweet. Seeing her start new schools and navigate her own challenges while missing her mother broke my heart. But it also reminded me of the importance of showing her that even when life falls apart, we can rely on God to hold us together.
Reflection Questions
- How has God shown His presence to you during times of brokenness?
- What steps can you take to rely on Him more fully in your own valley?
Prayer
Lord, thank You for staying close to me when my heart feels shattered. Teach me to trust You in the middle of pain and uncertainty. Help me to see Your hand at work, even when life doesn’t make sense. Strengthen me so I can reflect Your love to those around me, especially my children. I give You all honor, all the glory, and all the praise. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen & Amen.
