Where Are You, God?

Have you ever felt like God was silent when you needed Him most? I have. During one of the hardest seasons of my life, I found myself crying out to God, echoing the words of David and even Jesus on the cross: “Why have You forsaken me?”

It wasn’t that I doubted His existence, I knew He was there. But His silence felt deafening, and His absence felt overwhelming. I prayed and searched for answers, but the hurt and disappointment lingered. I questioned, “If You love me, why are You allowing this?”

It’s in moments like these that faith feels fragile. But looking back, I see how God was working in the silence. His plans weren’t clear to me then, but He was weaving redemption into the mess. Just as David went from lament to praise in Psalm 22, I’ve learned to trust that God’s silence doesn’t mean His absence.

Hope in the Waiting

Waiting is one of the hardest things to do. Whether you’re waiting for a breakthrough in a difficult season, a long-anticipated answer to prayer, or even clarity about your next steps, it can feel like God is silent. I’ve been there. Sitting in the uncertainty, wondering if God was still listening.

One particular season comes to mind. I had been praying for months about a situation that felt completely out of my control. Every time I thought progress was being made, another obstacle appeared. I remember telling God, “I’m tired of waiting. I don’t see what You’re doing.” But during one of those prayers, I felt the Holy Spirit nudge me to open my Bible. I landed on Isaiah 40:31, a verse I had read many times before: “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.” That word “hope” stood out like it never had before. It wasn’t about passively waiting… it was about actively trusting that God was working, even when I couldn’t see it.

Hope in the waiting doesn’t mean pretending everything is fine. It means trusting that God’s timing is perfect and that He’s working all things for your good (Romans 8:28). The waiting season isn’t wasted. It’s where God refines us, teaches us, and prepares us for what’s ahead.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for being faithful in every season of my life. Teach me to trust You in the waiting and to find strength in Your promises. Rated R Movies and the Christian Walk

Rated R movies are often marketed as “realistic” or “gritty,” but many contain graphic violence, strong language, or explicit content that conflicts with biblical values. As Christians, we’re called to set our minds on things that are pure and praiseworthy.

Watching rated R content can desensitize us to sin. What starts as a one-time indulgence can become normalized, dulling our sensitivity to the Holy Spirit’s convictions.

Does this mean all rated R movies are off-limits? Not necessarily. Some films, like those based on historical events (The Passion of the Christ), carry a meaningful message despite their rating. However, it’s crucial to ask ourselves whether a movie glorifies sin or points us to God’s truth.

Faith in a Changing World

The world we live in today looks nothing like it did even a decade ago. Values shift, trends change, and what was once right is now questioned. For Christians, navigating a world that seems to grow more distant from biblical truth can feel overwhelming. But in the midst of all this uncertainty, there’s one thing that never changes: God.

I remember feeling disheartened after a conversation with someone who dismissed the idea of absolute truth. They said, “Everything’s relative now. What’s true for you isn’t true for me.” I walked away questioning how to stand firm in my faith when the world around me seemed to be crumbling. That night, I opened my Bible to Hebrews 13:8: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Those words were like an anchor in a storm. They reminded me that while everything else changes, God remains constant.

Standing firm in a changing world doesn’t mean shouting our beliefs from the rooftops or condemning those who disagree. It means living out God’s truth with love, humility, and unwavering faith. It means being a light in the darkness, showing others that there is a solid foundation in Christ.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for being my constant in a world that is always changing. Teach me to stand firm in Your truth and to reflect Your love in all I do. Elijah and the Power of a Praying Prophet

Elijah’s life is a testament to the power of prayer. He prayed for drought, and the rain stopped. He prayed for rain, and it poured. His prayers even raised a boy from the dead. Elijah’s story shows that prayer is not just communication with God… it’s a powerful force that moves heaven and earth.

Life is full of challenges, and some days it feels like the weight of the world is on our shoulders. But as believers, we don’t have to face our struggles alone. God promises to be our strength, our refuge, and our ever-present help in trouble.

There was a season in my life when I felt completely overwhelmed. Every obstacle seemed insurmountable, and I didn’t know how I was going to make it through. In my desperation, I cried out to God and was reminded of Philippians 4:13. That verse became my anthem: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Overcoming challenges doesn’t mean the problems disappear overnight. It means trusting that God is with you, equipping you with everything you need to endure and grow. His strength is made perfect in our weakness, and His grace is always sufficient.

I’ve experienced the strength of unity in prayer groups and church services. There’s a unique sense of God’s presence when we come together, lifting our voices as one and aligning our hearts with His will.

Unity doesn’t mean we’re all the same… it means we’re united in Christ, celebrating our diversity as part of His body. Together, we can accomplish far more for His kingdom than we ever could alone.

Alcohol’s Silent Impact on the Next Generation

When we think about the effects of alcohol, we often focus on the individual. The person drinking. But the impact often ripples out, touching the lives of those around them, especially the next generation.

I’ve seen families where alcohol was just “part of life.” It was used responsibly, but the message it sent to the kids was loud and clear: This is how you handle stress, celebrate victories, or cope with disappointment. And while the parents maintained control, the children didn’t always follow the same path.

Our actions speak louder than words. When we model reliance on substances like alcohol, even in moderation, we may unintentionally lead others down a road we never intended. Paul’s words in Romans 14:21 remind us to consider how our choices affect others. Are we helping them grow closer to Christ, or are we creating stumbling blocks in their faith journey?

Alcohol isn’t just a personal decision, it’s a relational one. And as believers, we’re called to prioritize love, setting aside our preferences for the sake of others’ spiritual growth.

Fasting for Breakthrough

There are moments in our lives when we face challenges that seem insurmountable. In these times, fasting becomes a powerful tool for breakthrough. Jesus Himself emphasized the importance of fasting and prayer in overcoming spiritual obstacles.

During one of the most difficult seasons of my life, I felt overwhelmed and stuck. I turned to fasting, seeking God’s wisdom and intervention. As I spent time in prayer, I experienced His presence in ways I hadn’t before. He provided clarity and strength that I couldn’t find on my own.

Fasting for breakthrough is not about manipulating God, it’s about aligning our hearts with His will and opening ourselves to His power. It’s a reminder that the battle is not ours but His, and that He is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).

David and the Temple: A Legacy of Worship

King David had a deep desire to build a temple for the Lord, a place of worship that reflected God’s glory. Although God did not allow David to build the temple because of his warrior past, He honored David’s heart by allowing his son, Solomon, to carry out the task (1 Chronicles 22:6-10).

Archaeological discoveries have confirmed the grandeur of Solomon’s Temple, which was built according to David’s preparations. Findings such as temple artifacts, architectural parallels, and descriptions from ancient texts validate the Bible’s account of this magnificent structure.

David’s legacy reminds us that worship begins with the heart. Even though he couldn’t build the temple himself, his preparations and devotion laid the foundation for generations to encounter God. His story challenges us to live with a heart of worship, leaving a legacy that honors Him.
