Celebrating Our Daughter’s Sixth Birthday

Today we celebrated our daughter’s sixth birthday… a milestone filled with laughter, joy, and so much love. Watching her blow out her candles, surrounded by friends and family, I couldn’t help but reflect on how precious she is to us and how much God has blessed our family through her life.

She has always had such a kind and compassionate heart, even at her young age. Whether it’s her endless curiosity about the world or the way she lights up any room she enters, she is a constant reminder of God’s goodness.

As parents, my wife and I pray daily for her to grow into the woman God has created her to be… strong, wise, and full of faith. We see glimpses of that already, and it’s such a joy to watch her grow.

Reflection Questions

  1. What specific qualities of your child remind you of God’s goodness?
  2. How can you celebrate milestones in ways that point your family to Christ?

Prayer

Lord, thank You for the precious gift she is and for the joy she brings to our family. Teach me to guide her with wisdom and love, pointing her to You in all I do. Help her to grow in strength, grace, and faith as she becomes the person You’ve called her to be. I give You all honor, all the glory, and all the praise. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen & Amen.

The Importance of Fellowship

Fellowship with other believers isn’t just a nice addition to our faith… it’s essential. When we gather together, we encourage one another, strengthen our faith, and remind ourselves of God’s love.

During seasons of isolation, I’ve learned how much I need the body of Christ. Whether through small groups, Sunday worship, or conversations with a trusted friend, community has been a source of strength and growth in my spiritual walk.

God designed us for connection, and He works powerfully through His people. When we prioritize being with other believers, we create space for Him to encourage, equip, and challenge us in our faith.

Reflection Questions

  1. How has fellowship with other believers strengthened your faith?
  2. What steps can you take to prioritize gathering with your church community?

Prayer

Lord, thank You for the gift of fellowship and the encouragement of other believers. Teach me to prioritize gathering with Your people and to grow in faith through community. Help me to spur others on toward love and good deeds. I give You all honor, all the glory, and all the praise. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen & Amen.

Rooted Before Ready

Scripture:
The godly will flourish like palm trees and grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon. For they are transplanted to the Lord’s own house. They flourish in the courts of our God.
Psalm 92:12–13 (NLT)

We live in a world that’s obsessed with being ready. Ready for the promotion. Ready for the platform. Ready for the next step.

But God is more interested in whether we’re rooted.

Roots are what keep us grounded when storms hit. They’re what hold us in place when everything else is shaking. And in the Kingdom, being rooted in Christ matters more than being ready in the eyes of people.

I’ve had seasons where I begged God to use me more, but I hadn’t let Him grow me deeper.

He’s teaching me that being hidden isn’t a waste. It’s a gift. It’s the time to develop, to dig in, to become steady. To let truth go deep enough that it anchors me no matter what comes.

Because the truth is, being rooted is what makes you ready.

Bible Promise:
Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord… they will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream.
Jeremiah 17:7–8 (NIV)

Reflection Questions:

  1. Are you focusing more on being ready or being rooted?
  2. What can you do this week to strengthen your spiritual foundation?

Prayer:

Father, grow me deeper before You take me further. Help me not to chase moments I’m not yet rooted enough to carry. Plant me firmly in Your Word, in Your presence, and in Your truth. I want to be steady, strong, and anchored in You. I give You all honor, all the glory, and all the praise. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen & Amen.

The Power of Showing Up

Scripture:
Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.
1 Corinthians 4:2 (NIV)

Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is just show up.

Not perfectly. Not loudly. Just faithfully.

There have been Sundays I’ve walked into church feeling drained. Days I’ve opened my Bible without fireworks or feelings. Moments I’ve served, I’ve smiles, I’ve checked so many people in, yet no one clapped or even noticed. But those were some of the most important moments in my walk because I kept showing up.

Consistency is underrated in our world, but it’s priceless in the Kingdom.

God isn’t asking for performance. He’s looking for obedience. You may not see results right away. You may not even feel different in the moment. But when you keep showing up, you’re building spiritual muscle. You’re proving trustworthy with the little.

So today, wherever God has placed you, your home, your ministry, your job… just show up. Be faithful in it. Keep walking, even when it feels small. Faithfulness in the small is often the road to something greater.

Bible Promise:
Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.
Zechariah 4:10 (NLT)

Reflection Questions:

  1. Where is God calling you to simply show up and stay faithful?
  2. How do you measure success, and how might God define it differently?

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for trusting me with what You’ve placed in my hands. Help me not to overlook the small or chase the flashy. Help me to be faithful. I want to show up consistently and walk with You daily, even when it’s quiet, even when it’s hard. I give You all honor, all the glory, and all the praise. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen & Amen.

The Foundation of Prayer

Prayer is the heartbeat of the Christian life. It’s how we connect with God, seek His guidance, and align our hearts with His will. In the Bible, we see prayer as the foundation of every significant move of God, from Moses interceding for Israel to the early church praying for boldness.

Prayer is not just about asking for things, it’s about relationship. It’s a conversation with our Creator, who invites us to approach Him with confidence (Hebrews 4:16). As we devote ourselves to prayer, we align our lives with His purposes and experience His power in ways we never imagined.

Reflection Questions

  1. How can you make prayer the foundation of your daily life?
  2. What specific prayers has God answered in your life recently?

Prayer

Lord, thank You for the gift of prayer and for inviting me to come boldly before You. Teach me to make prayer the foundation of my life and to trust in Your power and faithfulness. Help Kneel Ministries inspire others to build their lives on prayer. I give You all honor, all the glory, and all the praise. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen & Amen.

What You Feed Grows

Scripture:
Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation.
1 Peter 2:2 (NIV)

Whatever you feed will grow.

That’s true in your body, your emotions, your mind, and especially in your spirit. When I spend time in God’s Word and in prayer, I notice a difference in how I respond, how I love, how I lead. But when I skip time with Him or let distractions take over, my thoughts get louder than my faith.

Spiritual maturity doesn’t happen by accident. It happens through discipline.
And that’s not a harsh word, it’s a hopeful one. The more you feed your spirit, the stronger your walk becomes.

I don’t want to be someone who only knows about God. I want to know Him personally and deeply. That kind of relationship takes time, attention, and consistency.

This year, I’m focusing on feeding what matters. Less of the noise. More of the Word. Less reacting. More praying. Less comparison. More contentment.

Because what you feed grows, and I want to grow into everything He’s called me to be.

Bible Promise:
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Matthew 5:6 (NIV)

Reflection Questions:

  1. What are you feeding most? Your spirit or your flesh?
  2. What’s one small habit you can begin this week to grow closer to God?

Prayer:

Father, help me to feed what matters. Teach me to hunger for Your Word and to crave Your presence more than anything else. Strengthen me as I pursue You. Root me deeply in truth, so that what grows in me is from You and for You. I give You all honor, all the glory, and all the praise. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen & Amen.

Welcome to The Hidden Pastor

Scripture: “But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.” (Psalm 1:2–3, NLT)

Welcome.

I don’t know how you found this page, but I’m glad you’re here.

This space was created out of a simple desire to share what God is pouring into my heart. Not to build a name, gain followers, or draw attention, but to create a place where Scripture, faith, and real life can meet in honest conversation.

For many years I have had the privilege of serving in ministry. Much of that time has been behind the scenes. My wife serves as a full-time children’s pastor, and her ministry is flourishing. Watching the way God uses her to shape young lives has been one of the greatest blessings of my life.

Together we have poured countless hours into teaching kids, youth, and young adults the Word of God, counseling families, and helping the next generation grow into strong Christian leaders.

But my heart carries a deep passion for more than just church programs. I love studying theology, diving into Scripture, praying for revival, sharing the gospel, engaging culture, and learning from the lives of the men and women throughout the Bible.

This blog is simply another way to live out that calling.

The Church today faces a unique challenge. Many people love Jesus, attend church faithfully, and read their Bibles. Yet when the Word of God challenges our assumptions or calls us to deeper transformation, it can be easier to stay comfortable than to change.

Rebellion does not always look like obvious sin. Sometimes it simply looks like holding on to our preferences instead of allowing Scripture to reshape our lives.

This space exists to open the Word of God honestly and allow it to speak. Here we will explore Scripture, theology, cultural questions, leadership, prayer, evangelism, and the everyday realities of following Christ.

Some reflections will be short. Others will dig deeper. But all of them will come from time spent in the Word and a desire to remain anchored to the Lord.

For now, this blog will be written anonymously under the name The Hidden Pastor.

That choice is intentional. My wife’s ministry is flourishing, and I never want this space to distract from the incredible work God is doing through her. More importantly, I want the focus to remain on Jesus rather than the person writing the words.

So if you think you know who is writing this, do us both a favor and pretend you don’t.

Let the message matter more than the messenger.

For now, the voice behind these words will remain hidden. The message is what matters.

My prayer is that something written here encourages you, challenges you, and draws you closer to Christ.

Thank you for being here.

Let’s walk this journey together, one step and one minute at a time.

Trusting God with the Unknown

When my wife left, I felt like I was standing at the edge of an unknown future. Everything I thought I knew about my life, my family, and even myself was shaken. I had no idea what was next or how to navigate the pain, but one thing became clear. I couldn’t do it on my own.

Trusting God with the unknown wasn’t easy. It meant surrendering control and admitting that I didn’t have all the answers. It meant choosing faith over fear, even when my circumstances screamed otherwise.

One moment that sticks out is when my daughter started junior high. I wanted to protect her from the instability and confusion we were all feeling, but I couldn’t. All I could do was pray and trust that God would guide her steps and carry us both through this season.

Scripture often reminds us that God calls people forward even when the future is unclear. When Joshua stepped into leadership after Moses, he faced an overwhelming responsibility and an uncertain road ahead. Yet God gave him a simple promise.

Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, and do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

God’s promise to Joshua reminds us that we’re never alone. Even when the future feels uncertain, His presence goes with us, giving us the strength and courage to face whatever lies ahead.

Reflection Questions

  1. What unknowns in your life are you struggling to trust God with?
  2. How can you lean on His promises to find strength and courage?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for being with me in the unknown. Teach me to trust You with every part of my life, even when I can’t see what’s ahead. Help me to be strong and courageous, knowing that You are faithful and that You walk with me through every season. I give You all honor, all the glory, and all of the praise. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen & Amen.
