Leaving a Legacy of Life-Giving Words

Our words don’t just impact the present, they leave a legacy. The things we say can shape the lives of our children, friends, and even future generations. The Bible reminds us that the tongue holds the power of life and death. What kind of legacy are we leaving with our words?

I think of my daughter our daughter and the blessing I’ve prayed over her since she was in the womb. Those words are more than just a routine, they’re seeds planted in her heart, affirming her identity and purpose in Christ. One day, she’ll carry those words with her, and they’ll continue to bear fruit in her life.

Legacy-building starts with intentionality. Are we speaking life over the people around us? Are we using our words to uplift, encourage, and point others to Christ? Leaving a legacy of life-giving words requires consistency, but the impact is eternal.

Reflection Questions

  1. What legacy do you want your words to leave for your family and friends?
  2. How can you be more intentional about speaking life into others today?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the power of words. Help me to use my tongue to leave a legacy of life, love, and truth. Teach me to speak intentionally, uplifting those around me and pointing them to You. I give You all honor, all the glory, and all the praise. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen & Amen.
