Another Year of Grace and Dreams Together

Today, my wife and I celebrate another year of marriage, and I’m so thankful for the journey we’ve been on together. This year has been unlike any other, with the challenges of the pandemic reshaping so much of our daily lives. But through it all, I’ve been reminded of the strength God has given us as a team.

My wife, is my partner in ministry and in life, and I’m constantly inspired by her faith, resilience, and love for our family. Whether we’re navigating the uncertainties of this season or dreaming about the future, I know God is at the center of it all, holding us together and leading us forward.

Our time together with our daughter has been a beautiful reminder of what truly matters. I’m grateful for every laugh, every prayer, and every moment we’ve shared as a family. God is building something beautiful in our lives, and I’m so thankful to be on this journey with her.

Reflection Questions

  1. How can you strengthen your marriage during challenging seasons?
  2. What dreams can you pray over together as a couple?

Prayer

Lord, thank You for Your grace in our marriage and for the strength You’ve given us to face this year together. Teach us to trust You in every season and to honor You in our family, ministry, and dreams. I give You all honor, all the glory, and all the praise. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen & Amen.

Purity: “How Far Is Too Far?”

“How far is too far?” It’s a question I’ve heard countless times in ministry, especially from young adults navigating dating and relationships. The world has a way of blurring boundaries, making it easy to justify small compromises. But Scripture is clear: God calls us to purity, not to see how close we can get to the line without crossing it.

When I think about this question, I realize it’s the wrong one to ask. Instead of focusing on the line, we should ask, “What can I do to honor God and the person I’m with?” Purity isn’t about restriction; it’s about reflecting God’s holiness in every area of our lives.

I’ve been single for a while now, and I’ll admit that staying pure isn’t always easy. But I’ve learned that setting clear boundaries and seeking accountability are essential. It’s not about legalism… it’s about protecting your heart and honoring God with your body.

If you’re struggling with this question, take it to God. Ask Him to guide your thoughts, actions, and relationships. When you prioritize His will, you’ll find the strength to walk in purity and the peace that comes with obedience.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for calling me to walk in purity. Help me to set boundaries that honor You and to seek Your strength when temptation arises. Teach me to pursue relationships that reflect Your love and holiness. I give You all honor, all the glory, and all the praise. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen & Amen.

Returning to Ministry with Renewed Vision

When I stepped back into ministry after those months of rest and reflection, it felt different. I wasn’t the same person I was before. God had used that time to strip away my pride, heal my heart, and renew my vision for His work.

Coming back wasn’t about picking up where I left off. It was about stepping into something new. God had given me a deeper understanding of His grace and a greater compassion for others who are hurting. He reminded me that ministry isn’t about me; it’s about Him.

If you’re in a season of stepping back or waiting, know this: God isn’t finished with you. He’s preparing you for what’s next, shaping you into the person He’s calling you to be. When the time comes to move forward, you’ll do so with a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper reliance on Him.

Reflection Questions

  1. How has God used seasons of waiting or rest to prepare you for new opportunities?
  2. What vision or purpose is He renewing in your heart today?

Prayer

Lord, thank You for restoring what was lost and for renewing my heart for ministry. Teach me to serve with humility, compassion, and reliance on Your strength. Help me to walk boldly into what You’ve prepared, trusting in Your faithfulness every step of the way. I give You all honor, all the glory, and all the praise. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen & Amen.

Being a Single Pastor

Being a single pastor comes with its unique challenges and blessings. On one hand, there’s freedom to focus on ministry without the demands of a spouse and family. On the other, there are societal expectations and personal longings that can weigh heavily.

When I first stepped into this role as a single man, I wondered if I would be taken seriously or if my singleness would be seen as a limitation. But Matthew 6:33 reminded me to seek God’s kingdom first. My value in ministry isn’t tied to my marital status but to my obedience and relationship with Christ.

Being a single pastor has taught me to lean more fully on God. It’s also given me a unique perspective to minister to others who are navigating singleness, waiting, or heartbreak. The key is remembering that whether single or married, our ultimate purpose is to glorify God and advance His kingdom.

Reflection Questions

  1. How does your relationship with God shape your identity and purpose, regardless of your marital status?
  2. How can you use your current season of life to serve Him more fully?

Prayer

Lord, thank You for calling me to serve You, no matter my circumstances. Teach me to trust Your timing and to focus on building Your kingdom. Help me to embrace this season of life and to glorify You in all that I do. I give You all honor, all the glory, and all the praise. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen & Amen.

Finding Strength in Surrender

During my time away from ministry, I realized how much I had been relying on my own strength. I thought I could handle everything if I just worked harder, prayed more, or held it together for my family. But the truth is, I couldn’t.

It was in that place of weakness that I learned the beauty of surrender. Admitting that I didn’t have it all together was humbling, but it opened the door for God’s grace to carry me. His strength became my lifeline, reminding me that I didn’t have to do it alone.

Surrender isn’t giving up… it’s giving in to God’s power and trusting Him to work through our weaknesses. When we let go of control, we make room for His grace to shine in our lives.

Reflection Questions

  1. What areas of your life do you need to surrender to God?
  2. How can you rely on His grace instead of your own strength?

Prayer

Lord, thank You for reminding me that Your grace is sufficient. Teach me to surrender my weaknesses to You, trusting in Your power to work through them. Help me to rely on Your strength and to find peace in Your presence. I give You all honor, all the glory, and all the praise. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen & Amen.

Letting Others Pour Into You

One of the hardest lessons I’ve learned is that I can’t do it all on my own. During those months of stepping back, God placed people in my life who spoke truth, encouraged me, and helped me heal.

Being mentored reminded me that even leaders need guidance. Allowing others to pour into me felt vulnerable, but it was exactly what I needed. Their wisdom and prayers became a lifeline, pointing me back to God when I felt lost.

If you’re in a season of struggle, don’t try to carry it alone. God often works through the people around us, using their experiences and insights to sharpen us. Letting others pour into you isn’t a sign of weakness… it’s a step toward growth and healing.

Reflection Questions

  1. Who has God placed in your life to mentor and encourage you?
  2. How can you open yourself to receiving their wisdom and support?

Prayer

Lord, thank You for the people You’ve placed in my life to sharpen and encourage me. Teach me to humbly receive their wisdom and to trust You in the process of growth. Help me to be open to the ways You work through others. I give You all honor, all the glory, and all the praise. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen & Amen.

Stepping Back to Move Forward

There came a moment in this journey when I realized I couldn’t keep going at the same pace. I was running on empty, trying to hold everything together, but deep down, I knew I needed to step back. So I took a four-month break from ministry. A decision that felt like both surrender and failure.

In that time, I sought professional counseling, leaned on a mentor, and allowed others to pour into me. It wasn’t easy to admit that I needed help, but God used those months to restore my soul. He showed me that ministry doesn’t depend on my strength but on His.

Stepping back wasn’t about giving up… it was about making space for healing and renewal. Sometimes, the most faithful thing we can do is to rest and allow God to work in the stillness.

Reflection Questions

  1. Is there an area of your life where you need to step back to allow God to restore you?
  2. How can you lean on others during seasons of rest and renewal?

Prayer

Lord, thank You for leading me beside still waters and restoring my soul. Teach me to trust You enough to step back when needed, knowing that You are always at work. Help me to find strength in Your presence and to rest in Your faithfulness. I give You all honor, all the glory, and all the praise. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen & Amen.

Mentorship: The Paul, Barnabas, and Timothy Model

Mentorship is a vital part of the Christian life. The Bible gives us a powerful model for mentorship in the relationships between Paul, Barnabas, and Timothy. Paul poured into Timothy, encouraging and equipping him for ministry. Barnabas walked alongside Paul, offering support and accountability. Together, they demonstrate the importance of having mentors, peers, and those we mentor.

In my life, I’ve been blessed with people who have poured into me… mentors who guided me with wisdom and encouragement. I’ve also had the privilege of walking alongside peers who sharpened my faith and of mentoring others who are growing in their walk with Christ.

The Paul, Barnabas, and Timothy model reminds us that mentorship is about relationship. It’s about walking together, sharing life, and pointing each other to Christ. Whether you’re a mentor, a peer, or a mentee, God can use these relationships to grow and strengthen your faith.

Reflection Questions

  1. Who are the Pauls, Barnabases, and Timothys in your life?
  2. How can you intentionally invest in these relationships this week?

Prayer

Lord, thank You for the gift of mentorship. Teach me to be a Timothy who learns, a Barnabas who encourages, and a Paul who pours into others. Help me to build relationships that glorify You and strengthen my faith. I give You all honor, all the glory, and all the praise. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen & Amen.

Help us to grow closer to You and each other every day. I give You all honor, all the glory, and all the praise. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen & Amen.

Celebrating Love, Family, and Ministry

Today, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude as my wife and I celebrate another year of marriage. Our journey together has been one of faith, hope, and love, and I’m continually amazed by the way God has knit our hearts together… not just as husband and wife, but as partners in ministry and life.

My wife is my greatest earthly blessing. Her heart for God, our family, and the church inspires me every day. Whether we’re leading together in ministry, laughing around the dinner table, or dreaming about the future, I see God’s hand in every part of our story.

Our marriage isn’t perfect, but it’s built on the foundation of God’s love, and that makes all the difference. I’m thankful for the ways we’ve grown closer through challenges and celebrated together in joy. My prayer is that we continue to seek God first in everything, allowing His love to guide and sustain us for many years to come.
