Ask, Seek, Knock

Jesus invites us into a life of persistent prayer and trust in God’s faithfulness. The progression of asking, seeking, and knocking emphasizes active faith. A faith that believes God hears, answers, and provides according to His will.

There was a time in my life when I felt stuck, unsure of the next step. I prayed for direction but felt like nothing was happening. It wasn’t until I began seeking God’s Word and knocking on opportunities He placed before me that I saw His plan unfold. God didn’t just give me what I asked for… He gave me something better.

Asking is bringing our needs to God. Seeking is pursuing His will through prayer and His Word. Knocking is taking steps of faith, trusting that He will open the right doors. When we approach Him with persistence and trust, we experience His perfect timing and provision.

Kneeling in Prayer: The Foundation of Discipleship

Prayer is the foundation of everything we do in Kneel Ministries, and it is the starting point for discipleship. Without prayer, our efforts become mere human striving. Through prayer, we seek God’s guidance, strength, and wisdom to invest in others and make disciples.

When Jesus chose His disciples, He spent the night in prayer (Luke 6:12). Before the Great Commission, He prayed for His followers (John 17). Prayer is what connects us to God’s heart, aligning our will with His. It empowers us to disciple others not out of our own strength, but through His Spirit working in and through us.

As we kneel before God in prayer, we humble ourselves and acknowledge that He is the one who brings growth and transformation. Whether you’re discipling a new believer, mentoring someone in their faith, or walking alongside a peer, prayer must be at the center.

Reflection Questions

  1. How can you make prayer the foundation of your discipleship efforts?
  2. Who can you lift up in prayer today as part of your commitment to making disciples?

Prayer

Lord, thank You for the gift of prayer and for the privilege of coming before You. Teach me to make prayer the foundation of all I do, especially in discipleship. Guide me as I invest in others, and empower Kneel Ministries to bring glory to You through faithful discipleship. I give You all honor, all the glory, and all the praise. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen & Amen.

Declaring God’s Promises Over Your Life

Praying Scripture over your life is a powerful way to align your heart with God’s promises and declare His truth over your circumstances. God’s Word is alive and active (Hebrews 4:12), and when we speak it in faith, it brings hope, strength, and transformation.

Speak God’s Promises: Find Bible verses that address your situation. For example, when facing fear, declare “God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7).

Pray with Boldness: God’s promises are unchanging. When you declare them, you’re not reminding Him of His Word. You’re reminding yourself of His faithfulness.

Trust His Timing: Praying Scripture is not about manipulating God but aligning with His will. Trust that His answers are perfect, even when they come in unexpected ways.

Praying the promises of God strengthens your faith and shifts your perspective, reminding you that His Word is your firm foundation.

Reflection Questions

  1. What promises from Scripture can you declare over your life today?

Praying Through Difficult Decisions

Life is full of difficult decisions, but prayer provides the clarity and wisdom we need to move forward. God promises to guide us when we seek Him with a humble and trusting heart.

Ask for Wisdom: James 1:5 reminds us that God generously gives wisdom to those who ask. Bring your decisions before Him, trusting in His guidance.

Seek His Peace: God’s peace often accompanies His direction. If you feel unsettled about a decision, it may be a sign to wait or reconsider.

Trust His Timing: Sometimes the answer doesn’t come right away. Be patient and trust that God’s timing is perfect.

Praying through difficult decisions aligns your heart with God’s will and gives you the confidence to move forward in faith.

Memorizing Scripture for Meditation

Memorizing Scripture is a powerful way to meditate on God’s Word. When we commit verses to memory, we carry His truth with us wherever we go, allowing it to shape our thoughts and actions throughout the day.

During a season of anxiety, I memorized Philippians 4:6-7. Repeating those verses reminded me to bring my worries to God in prayer, and His peace replaced my fear. Memorization became a lifeline, connecting me to His promises when I needed them most.

Meditating on memorized Scripture doesn’t require a Bible in hand, it’s a reminder that God’s Word is always with us. It strengthens our faith and equips us to face life’s challenges with His truth.

Reflection Questions

  1. What Scripture could you memorize this week to strengthen your faith?
  2. How has memorizing Scripture helped you meditate on God’s promises?

Growing in Faith

Faith isn’t something we master overnight. It’s a journey of continual growth. Just like a plant needs water and sunlight, our faith needs to be nurtured with prayer, Scripture, and fellowship. Growing in faith is about drawing closer to God and becoming more like Christ.

I remember a time when my faith felt stagnant. I went through the motions of prayer and church, but something was missing. It wasn’t until I committed to daily Bible study and intentional prayer that my faith began to deepen. The more I sought God, the more I saw His presence in every aspect of my life.

2 Peter 3:18 calls us to grow in grace and knowledge. This growth doesn’t happen passively; it requires effort and surrender. As we invest time in our relationship with God, He transforms us from the inside out, equipping us to live out our faith in every area of life.

  1. What steps can you take to grow deeper in your relationship with God?
  2. How has God grown your faith through past challenges?

A Legacy of Journaling

Journaling not only strengthens your faith. It creates a spiritual legacy for future generations. When you document your walk with God, you leave a testimony of His goodness and faithfulness for others to read and be inspired by.

I think about the journals I’ve kept during pivotal seasons of my life. They hold stories of God’s provision, answered prayers, and lessons learned through challenges. I imagine my daughter one day reading them, seeing how God has been at work in our family, and being encouraged to trust Him in her own journey.

Your journals can serve as a reminder of God’s faithfulness, not just for you but for those who come after you. They become a witness to His mighty acts and a source of hope for future generations.

Pray for Wisdom: Seek God’s guidance in leading your family and making decisions that honor Him.

Prioritizing Family Worship: Strengthening the Spiritual Bond

Family worship is one of the most powerful ways to create a spiritual bond and lay a strong foundation of faith for your children. Yet, in the busyness of life, it’s often overlooked or treated as optional.

Family worship doesn’t have to be formal or complicated. It can be as simple as reading a Bible story together, singing worship songs, or praying as a family before bed. The key is consistency and intentionality.

I’ve seen how family worship transforms not just the children but the entire household. It fosters open communication about faith, encourages accountability, and creates shared moments of joy and connection. It also teaches children that worship is not confined to a church building… it’s a way of life.

When we prioritize family worship, we’re setting a standard that honors God and strengthens the spiritual bond within our family. Let it be a time of joy, growth, and connection that points your children to Christ.

Reflection Questions

  1. How can you make family worship a consistent part of your household routine?
  2. What creative ways can you incorporate worship into your daily family life?

Prayer

Lord, thank You for the gift of family and the opportunity to worship together. Teach me to lead my household in honoring You, creating a foundation of faith that will last for generations. Help us to grow closer to You and to each other through worship. I give You all honor, all the glory, and all the praise. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen & Amen.

Resilience in the Waiting

Waiting is one of the hardest parts of life, especially when the outcome is unclear. During the months of praying for reconciliation, I felt like I was stuck in limbo, not knowing what the future would hold. The waiting tested my faith, my patience, and my resilience.

In that season, I learned that resilience isn’t about doing… it’s about being. It’s about choosing to trust God in the uncertainty and finding strength in His presence rather than in the outcome. Waiting taught me to rest in Him, to rely on His timing, and to believe that He was working even when I couldn’t see it.

God uses seasons of waiting to refine us, to deepen our dependence on Him, and to prepare us for what’s next. Resilience in the waiting isn’t about having all the answers, it’s about trusting the One who does.

Reflection Questions

  1. What are you waiting for in this season, and how can you trust God in the process?
  2. How has God strengthened your resilience through times of uncertainty?

Prayer

Lord, thank You for teaching me to wait on You and to find strength in Your presence. Help me to trust Your timing and to grow in resilience as I rest in Your faithfulness. Teach me to take heart and to know that You are always at work. I give You all honor, all the glory, and all the praise. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen & Amen.
